Tipsy Skipper is excited to announce our first guest blogger, Kelly O'Conor. Kelly is a 19-year-old sophomore at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. She is on the rowing team there, and grew up in Washington DC where she went to Georgetown Visitation Prep School. Her hobbies include rowing, running, shopping and enjoying time with friends and family. We're happy to have her along for the ride with Tipsy Skipper and share her stories with Tipsy Tattler! Cheers!

I recently took a trip a little further down south...Think Annapolis, and all things nautical come to mind!

Just some background on the town, after the Revolutionary War, Annapolis's business shifted to small-boat harvesting of oysters, crabs, and fish from the shallow waters of Chesapeake Bay.

Today, it’s hard not to be inspired, when walking thru the town is known as the sailing capital of America and home to the U.S. Naval Academy.

Sailing is definitely a favorite pastime for Annapolis residents. Many national and international sailing events, as well as weekly regattas take place in the bay.

I immediately wished I had my Tipsy Skipper Captain Morgan Clutch in Starboard Tack! It would have fit in perfectly with the maritime atmosphere of the town.

For the rest of your summer, if you are in need of a quick getaway, there are plenty of opportunities to get out on the water in Annapolis -- schooners, sailing sloops, and cruise boats offer a variety of tours, and even Sunday brunch. Take a guided kayak tour of downtown Annapolis or paddle alone on the many creeks that feed the bay.

A particular favorite of mine as a kid was the 'Sea Gypsy' - a re-created pirate ship that offers an action-packed cruise. Kids can pretend to be pirates and defend their ship from fierce attackers by using its water cannons. A little Captain Morgan inspiration...

The Naval Academy is well worth a visit as well, and its visitor center features interactive exhibits and displays, as well as a theater showing the award-winning video To Lead and To Serve.

Tell us what inspires you! Where do you enjoy going in the Summer? We’d love to hear from you, and maybe you can send some inspiration our way! Who knows - maybe your story will inspire the next Tipsy Skipper signature print! Cheers!
